(Road Cycling Tour)

Through the valley of "El Guadalquivir" and the sierras of MAlaga
(Sevilla-Córdoba-Málaga)

Route: 8 days

Route in bicycle by the province of Seville, Cordova and Malaga, in the center of Andalucia.

The Guadalquivir river crosses the independent community of Andalucia from east to west.
The ample valley that forms in the "Sierra Morena", is flanked by elevated mountains in the south, soft mountain range, smooth and deep vegetation to the north. The predominant vegetation of this Countryside is formed of cereal and orchard and by great extensions of olive trees.
Sierra Morena separates Andalucia from the rest of Spain. It is formed by small hills filled with oaks and cork oaks. In the interior, fertile valleys where cattle feed.
Olive trees fill the valley of the Guardrail river.
The mountains of Malaga, pertaining to the Belic mountain range, crosses south of Andalucia from the south to the west. Formed mainly of limestone rock, giving an off-white aspect to the mountain side.
We will pedal through local highways and roadways, enjoying the landscape formed by meadows of oaks and cork trees, rolling hills that do not exceed the 700 meters of height, later to descend to the valley of the Guadalquivir, continuing on flat roadways and between olive trees until arriving to Antequera, on the foot of the "Penibética" mountains.
In our last route we will cross the mountain ranges of the "Torcal" until arriving to the Mountains of Malaga.

- Daily routes in bicycle, accompanied by a guide of Pedal and Adventure and a vehicle of support and transfers.

1º Day:

Route: Sevilla . Reception. Transfer to Hotel. Visit the Cathedral and the Alcázar.

2º Day:

Route: Sevilla ( Transfer)- Cazalla de la Sierra.

We will be transferred in 45 minutes to a town of the "Sierra Morena" where we will initiate our route. We will ride through meadows of oak and cork trees, by calm highways that introduce us to the mountain range.

We will arrive Cazalla de la Sierra. Accommodations in Hotel, historic rural Inn.

3º Day:

Route: Cazalla de la Sierra - Hornachuelos.
( Transfer to Córdoba)

One of the most depopulated zones of the sierras. Roads without hardly any traffic. Green landscapes, with forests of oaks and cork trees. Hills and valleys in our route that constantly makes us ascend and descend.

Arriving at the town of Hornachuelos, we will be transferred in vehicle to Cordoba. Lodging in centric Hotel

•  Geography: Meadow and Mediterranean vegetation/hills

4º Day:

Route: Córdoba-Écija

After a visit to Cordoba, we will leave the city and after crossing the river Guadalquivir, we will pedal by the countryside, with abundant olive trees and agricultural zones.

On our arrival to Écija we will discover why it is called the "city of pillars". Accommodations in Hotel. Baroque palace of XVIII century.

•  Geography: Flat roads

5º Day:

Route: Écija-Estepa-Osuna

We will cross the fields of olive trees watered by the Genil river, affluent of the Guadalquivir, visiting the town of Estepa, with its white painted houses, located in the lower area of the Hill San Cristóbal.

We will continue to Osuna, the ducal villa, of origin Tartesian (preRoman), that owes its present aspect to the Dukes of Osuna, which they impelled during its development of the city in the XV century.

We will lodge in the old palace of Marqués de la Gomera

•  Geography: Olive trees and wheat fields / Flat Roads

6º Day:

Route: Osuna-Antequera

In this stage, we will approach the "Penibética" mountain range, arriving at the city of Antequera, connected to a beautiful valley "Hoya de Antequera", at the feet of the mountain.

We will ride by the countryside, crossing small mountain ranges like the one of the "Zorrito" and "Los Caballos", to reach the natural reserve of the lagoon "Fuente de Piedra", where the greatest European colony of Pink Flamingos nests.

Our Hotel tonight is a restored Andalusian cortijo of the XVIII century in the countryside of Antequera.

•  Level: MEDIUM
•  Geography: Olive trees and Agricultural/Flat roads and Rolling hills

7º Day:

Route: Antequera-Colmenar

An ascent in the sierra del Torcal, with a mountainous landscape of great precipices. Slopes and ascents that take us to Mountains de Malaga, where the off-white limestone rock scenery changes to extensive pine forests.

•  Distance: 55 kms.
•  Level: MEDIUM/HIGH
•  Geography: Rocky - Forest/Mountains

8º Day: Transfer to the airport of Málaga or Sevilla.
